see how upset we are? haha. this picture makes me smile (even though i was really, really upset when it was taken). so, our original schedule called for a lay-over in Houston that was only 37 minutes. we knew that was risky, but the airlines scheduled us like that - so we trusted them. after going 'round and 'round with continental in columbia - we realized our flight out of columbia was going to be at least 35 minutes late leaving because our plane was late leaving newark ('cause of weather). so - they wouldn't put us on another airline and our flight out of Houston (to Seattle) was the last one for the night. so what continental told us was basically, all we could do was got on the plane to Houston (when it left at least 35 minutes late), miss our flight to Seattle, and sleep in the airport when we got to Houston (Houston had no hotel rooms because this was the week after Katrina hit - so lots of people relocated to that area for safety. but if there were hotel rooms, we would have had to pay for it out of our pocket). from there we would have had to get on a flight Thursday morning and get to Seattle at about 11am west-coast time. yeah, we were upset. oh, and dips and dc would be stuck in the Seattle airport for the night because the rental car was in my name and we planned on crashing an hour away at my brother mike's place ... and i had to the directions too.
